Ahead of the new Premier League season, Erling Haaland broke the internet when he chopped off his iconic golden locks and debuted a new buzz cut hairstyle. Haaland shared the look on his social media accounts and uploaded a full video on YouTube where he showed the reactions of former coach Pep Guardiola as well as former Sweden and Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“This beautiful long hair, time to let it go. I was thinking of doing it after the World Cup but I was so busy so I didn’t do it. The season starts now so it’s time to get a fresh start,” Haaland said on YouTube.

“You are lucky you have hair,” Guardiola said over video call while Ibrahimovic said, “What the f**k did you do? You lost a et or what? Oh my god. you block me and erase my number.”

Haaland is expected to debut the new look in Manchester City’s first league match of the season vs Bournemouth. City will begin a new post-Pep Guardiola era at home to Bournemouth. City didn’t have the best of starts in the Community Shield last Sunday, losing 3-0 to Arsenal. Arsenal opened the scoring after just 23 seconds when Riccardo Calafiori was put through on goal, before they doubled their ‌lead when Gianluigi Donnarumma could not keep out Kai Havertz’s header.

Arsenal’s new signing Christos Tzolis then provided a second assist when he set up skipper Martin Odegaard for the third goal ‌three minutes into the second half, with ‌the Premier League champions looking fitter and sharper ‌than City.

Maresca’s side showed only flashes of their attacking threat, with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland forcing saves from David Raya, but the Arsenal goalkeeper ‌stood firm to preserve a clean sheet.
