As many as 105 women and children were injured in Tuesday’s US assault on Iran as a sudden escalation of the Middle East war claimed at least 18 lives, including four killed at a wedding, Al Jazeera reported, citing Iran’s Health Ministry. Sixty-one of the wounded were women while 44 were below 18 years of age. Among those killed in the attack were two women and one child, it added.

Iran on Wednesday fired on US allies in the Gulf after overnight American strikes, Iranian State media reported. Sirens were sounded in Kuwait, where air defences intercepted drone and missile attacks during a “blatant Iranian aggression”, the country’s Ministry of Defence said.
