Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (BAN vs SL) 2nd ODI Live Cricket Score Updates: Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss on Tuesday and opted to bat in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Mushfiqur Rahim’s 125 helped the hosts post a total of 246 on the board.
Bangladesh made two changes to the squad which won the series-opener by 33 runs, giving left-arm fast bowler Shoriful Islam a debut in place of Taskin Ahmed and picking all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain to replace Mohammad Mithun.
Sri Lanka, which needs to win to keep the three-match series alive, kept the same starting lineup. The series is important for both teams in terms of qualification to the 2023 World Cup.
Mustafizur Rahman gets the better of Dansuhka Gunathilaka. The opener hits it straight into the hands of Shakib Al Hasan who was fielding deep in the off side. Gunathilaka falls for 24 from 46 balls. Both the openers are now back in hut. Bangladesh will like to slow down the scoring rate here and try to force Sri Lankan batsmen into playing reckless shots. SL 53/2 after 14 overs
Danushka Gunathilaka’s scoring rate has suffered after the first wicket fell down. Meanwhile, Pathum Nissanka has got off to a good start having hit two boundaries already. Kusal Perera tries to take the aerial route but finds Tamim Iqbal at mid-off. Shoriful Islam strikes for Bangladesh in his third over. Sri Lanka’s run chase of 247 is now underway. So far, it has been just singles for the Sri Lankan openers in the first two overs. Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed has been named Saifuddin’s concussion replacement as he was hit on the helmet during his 30-ball 11.

Match resumes after rain stopped play with Mushfiqur Rahim bringing up his 8th ODI Century after much delay. Rahim’s golden run continues as he brings up a 100 in 114 balls, including 6 fours. And he brings it up in style, with a boundary. Rahim came to bat when Bangladesh was 15 for 2, both Tamim and Shakib was back in dressing room. BAN are 228/7 after 45 overs.
It has started raining again, this time heavily. The groundstaff have rushed in and the players rushed off. This means a further delay in Rahim’s century. Mushfiqur Rahim on 96* and BAN are 213/7 after 43.3 overs.

Afif Hossain caught, Mushfiqur Rahim still batting on 69* but is running out of partners. Slices that in the air, but that’s high enough to only reach the mid-on fielder. Nissanka runs back and takes it well, as Afif tries to loft that above the man inside the circle. Mehidy Hasan walks in to replace Atif Hossain. BAN are 179/6 after 37 overs.
OUT! Sandakan strikes again; Breaks the 87-run partnership between Mahmudullah and Rahim. Mahmudullah takes a paddle shot but Kusal Perera anticipates well to take the brilliant catch as Bangladesh lose their fifth wicket. Sri Lanka needed a bit of magic and their captain provides just that! Mahmudullah is replaced by Atif Hossain, who finishes the over with a boundary as BAN are 165/5 after 34 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahim brings up his second consecutive half-century, rescuing Bangladesh after a poor start. Since his last hundred in ODIs (vs Australia in the 2019 World Cup), Rahim has seven scores of fifty or more (0 hundreds) including today’s. Six of them have come in the first innings. BAN are 141 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 30 overs.
Mahmudullah hits Dhananjaya de Silva for the first six of the match today. With that, Rahim and Mahmudullah raise a 50-run stand without breaking a sweat. Sri Lanka looking for a breakthrough. BAN are 134/4 after 29 overs.
