IND U19 vs SL U19, India vs Sri Lanka Under 19 Asia Cup 2025 Highlights: India captain Ayush Mhatre and his opening partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi both fell early but Vihaan Malhotra and Aaaron George clicked into cruise mode, cracking fine half centuries in an unbeaten 114-run stand. India chased down 139 in 18 overs to convincingly win the rain-hit semi-final of the U19 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka at the ICC Academy A ground in Dubai on Friday. India will now clash with Pakistan in the final on Sunday.

Sri Lanka earlier recovered well to get to a score of 138/8 in a match that had been curtailed to 20-overs-a-side. Chamika Heenatigala and Sethmika Seneviratne’s seventh-wicket partnership of 52 runs in 40 balls is what helped Sri Lanka get to the score after tottering at 84/6 at one point. But it wasn’t enough.

The toss and the game was delayed for a significant period due to rain and a wet outfield in Dubai. Elsewhere, the second semifinal between Pakistan and Bangladesh had been reduced to a 27-over contest. Bangladesh were bowled out for 121, Pakistan then cruised to a win by 8 wickets with 63 balls remaining.

A few hours ago, scenes from Dubai had showed massive puddles around the boundary ropes at the ICC Academy Ground. But finally when the rain in Dubai eased up, the ground staff did their best to make the ground playable. The two arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, have already faced off once in the group stage, with India defeating Pakistan on their way to an unbeaten run into the semi-finals.

Ayush Mhatre’s Indian side put on a comprehensive performance against Pakistan on Sunday to seal their spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing Under-19 ACC Asia Cup tournament being played in Dubai.

India’s all-round heft was exemplified by the resounding win as the team was able to put on a superb show despite the early dismissals of Mhatre and young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Aaron George delivered a performance affirming his status as a promising batting prospect, just as pacer Deepesh Devendran further solidified his case for a role in the senior team’s future plans. The contributions of this duo, coupled with Kanishk Chouhan’s all-round display, were instrumental in India securing an emphatic 90-run win over Pakistan.
