Trump ‘actively’ discussing purchase of Greenland, says White House
US President Donald Trump (inset) has not ruled out the use of military force to acquire Greenland (AP/File Photo)US President Donald Trump has been actively discussing about the purchase of Greenland from Denmark with his national security team, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday. Leavitt, however, refused to rule out possible military action.
When asked about a possible US offer to purchase Greenland, which is a self-governing territory of Denmark, Leavitt said, “That’s something that’s currently being actively discussed by the president and his national security team.”

Leavitt further said, “That’s not something this president does. All options are always on the table for President Trump,” when a reporter asked why Trump would not rule out military action against a fellow NATO member.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while speaking to reporters at the Capitol Hill on Wednesday, said that he will meet officials from Denmark next week to discuss about Greenland.
