Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (BAN vs SL) 2nd ODI Live Cricket Score Updates: Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss on Tuesday and opted to bat in the second one-day International against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh made two changes to the squad which won the series-opener by 33 runs, giving left-arm fast bowler Shoriful Islam a debut in place of Taskin Ahmed and picking all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain to replace Mohammad Mithun.

Sri Lanka, which needs to win to keep the three-match series alive, kept the same starting lineup. The series is important for both teams in terms of qualification to the 2023 World Cup.

That was quick. The covers are coming off by the groundsmen and the play should resume soon. Stay tuned for live updates.

Bangladesh are 195/7, after 41.1 overs. Mushfiqur (78*) and Saifuddin (1*) at the crease. However, the match sees a stoppage, thanks to rain. The covers are coming on. The pitches and the square have been covered.

Bangladesh slip again with two wickets in consecutive overs after Rahim’s half-century. Sri Lanka are on top as the hosts lose their seventh wicket. Brilliant googly by Hasaranga to dismiss Mehidy, who goes for the drive, but the ball finds the gap between his bat and pad to knock of his off stump. BAN are 184/7 after 38 overs.

Afif Hossain caught, Mushfiqur Rahim still batting on 69* but is running out of partners. Slices that in the air, but that’s high enough to only reach the mid-on fielder. Nissanka runs back and takes it well, as Afif tries to loft that above the man inside the circle. Mehidy Hasan walks in to replace Atif Hossain. BAN are 179/6 after 37 overs.

OUT! Sandakan strikes again; Breaks the 87-run partnership between Mahmudullah and Rahim. Mahmudullah takes a paddle shot but Kusal Perera anticipates well to take the brilliant catch as Bangladesh lose their fifth wicket. Sri Lanka needed a bit of magic and their captain provides just that! Mahmudullah is replaced by Atif Hossain, who finishes the over with a boundary as BAN are 165/5 after 34 overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim brings up his second consecutive half-century, rescuing Bangladesh after a poor start. Since his last hundred in ODIs (vs Australia in the 2019 World Cup), Rahim has seven scores of fifty or more (0 hundreds) including today’s. Six of them have come in the first innings. BAN are 141 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 30 overs.

Mahmudullah hits Dhananjaya de Silva for the first six of the match today. With that, Rahim and Mahmudullah raise a 50-run stand without breaking a sweat. Sri Lanka looking for a breakthrough. BAN are 134/4 after 29 overs.

Mahmudullah hits Isuru Udana for a 4! Mahmudullah has been dismissed for single digit scores in five of his last seven ODI innings against Sri Lanka (9, 6, 3, 1, 76, 7, 54). BAN 111/4 after 25 overs.

Bangladesh cross the 100-run mark with Mahmudullah and Rahim at the crease after 23 overs. Sri Lanka bowlers put the visitors in pole position. Mahmudullah and Rahim looking good to bail out Bangladesh once again.

Mushfiqur Rahim hits Dasun Shanaka for a 4! Rahim had the room to free his hands, upper cuts it fine as the fielder was square at third man. BAN are  88/4 after 19 overs.

Soon after Mushfiqur Rahim hits Lakshan Sandakan for a 4, Sandakan claims his second, Mosaddek Hossain is caught down leg side. BAN are 74/4 after 16 overs. Sri Lanka in pole position here to restrict Bangladesh (74/4) to under 200.

Out! Lakshan Sandakan strikes with his first ball, removes Liton Das for 25. Liton hits a long hop straight to the fielder. And with that, Liton has not passed 25 ODI runs in eight innings now. BAN are 52/3 after12 overs.

After a series of dots, Liton Das uses Chameera’s pace to good use and it goes for boundary. As an opener, Liton Das has not passed 25 runs in an ODI for straight seven innings. BAN are 35/2 after 8 overs

Liton Das hits Dushmantha Chameera for a 4, hopefully infusing some energy after a poor start for Bangladesh. BAN are 26/2 after 6 overs.

Before getting out, Tamim becomes the first batsman to score 14,000 international runs in Bangladesh colors.

Looking to seal series, hosts Bangladesh have suffered an early setback in the second ODI, losing Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan early. Liton Das had won the toss earlier and said that the hosts would bat. BAN – 21/2(5) Liton Das – 4(16) Mushfiqur Rahim – 1(6)

Sri Lanka start the second ODI on a strong note as Dushmantha Chameera strikes twice to remove Traps Tamim and Shakib in the same over, his first of the innings. Tamim trapped lbw in the 2nd over by Chameera, ball swinging in. The perfect start for SL. And now Shakib goes – similar delivery, lbw, Shakib doesn’t review. Bangladesh are 15/2 after 2 overs

Sri Lankan fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has caused early damage to Bangladesh’s top order as he took two wickets in his first four balls. Got Tamim Iqbal’s wicket followed by incoming batsman Shakib Al Hasan.  Both were found LBW. Bangladesh 15/2.

“It is a must win situation but we aren’t putting too much pressure on ourselves. If you are playing as a batsman, you have to pull up your soks and play your roles. Same team.”

“We’ll bat first again. It looks a similar wicket and there was some turn and something for the fast bowlers in the evening in the last game. We play okay in the last game. Those getting 60s and 70s need to get a big score when they are set. But it is extremely hot and it is difficult to play in these confitions. Two changes – Shoriful makes his debut in place of Taskin, and Mosaddek comes in as well”

Hello and welcome to the live cricket action between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series. Bangladesh opt to bat again and have handed a debut to Shoriful Islam, by leaving out Taskin Ahmed. One more change: Mosaddek Hossain replaces Mohammad Mithun. Sri Lanka are unchanged.
