Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (BAN vs SL) 3rd ODI Live Cricket Score Updates: With already 2-0 in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will not be in any mood to loosen the hold on the third match today. The hosts have just broken their 10-match winless streak and will be hoping to continue their winning run with a clean sweep. The Tamim Iqbal and Co have moved to the top of the points table in the Super League with 50 points.
It has been quite tough for Sri Lankans as nothing seemed to have gone their way so far in the series. Bangladesh won the first ODI by 33 runs and in the second ODI, the hosts won by 103 runs (D/N method). The Bangla Tigers managed to beat the Lankan Tigers owing to the wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim’s sensational form with the bat scoring 84 and 125 in the two games.
The Kusal Perera-led Sri Lanka will be looking to salvage some pride and get 10 crucial points in the Super League.
After 33 balls without a single boundary, the visitors finally break the deadlock as Perera pulls away for a four facing Taskin. The Sri Lanka skipper moves to 95* after a single. On the other end, his partner Dhananjaya de Silva is on 5*. SL: 170/3 (30 overs)
Taskin Ahmed does it again! He comes back into the attack and breaks the partnership between the two Kusals. A short of a length delivery by the bowler and Kusal Mendis (22) threw his hands at it… Tamim completes the catch on mid-off. SL: 152/3 (25.2 overs)
Shakib’s introduction into the attack made it tougher for Sri Lanka to bounce back but the captain comes to the rescue. Perera (77*) takes on Mosaddek and smashes two short balls over the fence in some style. 14 runs off the over. SL: 145/2 (24 overs)
Apart from four leg-byes, Bangladesh haven’t conceded a single boundary in the last four overs. Both Mehidy and Shoriful have kept it tight with their economical bowling as Perera (63*) and Mendis (9*) are taking it nice and slow now. SL: 120/2 (20 overs)
Ever since the dismissals, Sri Lanka have been forced to be on their backfoot by Mustafizur and Taskin. Perera (55*) still rages on, as he brings up his 15th ODI fifty with a single and then hits a four to boost morale. Kusal Mendis is on 4*. SL: 101/2 (16 overs)
Bangladesh have their breakthrough! Taskin bowls one around off stump and Gunathilaka looks for a hoick across the line. Under-edge and onto the stumps. Bowled! The batsman departs for 39. Up next for the visitors, Pathum Nissanka. Taskin toys with him for three balls and scalps his wicket off a catch by Rahim. Sri Lanka’s momentum has completely faltered! SL: 82/2 (12 overs)
Gunathilaka (39*) unleashes his fury with the bat facing Mehidy. A four with a slog sweep and then a maximum off a fuller on the leg side, big runs coming in the over. In the next over, Mustafizur joins the attack and concedes just two runs. SL: 79/0 (11 overs)
Despite Mehidy’s economical over where the visitors could only take four singles, Bangladesh fail to build on it. Taskin Ahmed gets hammered for a four on his first ball by Gunathilaka (27*). Perera (38*) hits one too. Twelve runs off the over. SL: 66/0 (9 overs)
Mosaddek Hossain comes into the attack but it’s the same script again. Perera (30*) hits two fine boundaries. SL: 41/0 (6 overs)
Sri Lanka skipper Perera (18*) has been on fire so far, hitting boundaries at will almost. He sent two deliveries by Shoriful to the rope in the bowler’s second over and continued his momentum against Mehidy Hasan too. Gunathilaka’s on 9*. SL: 27/0 (4 overs)
Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Perera come out to open the innings for Sri Lanka. Bangladesh’s Shoriful Islam starts the proceedings with the ball. Both the openers get their team to a bright start in the dead-rubber hitting two fours. SL: 9/0 (1 over)
Sri Lanka have made plenty of changes. Dickwella is back as wicketkeeper, and there are three debutants: Ramesh Mendis, Chamika Karunaratne and Binura Fernando. Sandakan, Udana, Bandara and Shanaka are out.
While Bangladesh have dropped Liton Das for Naim, and Taskin replaces Saifuddin. Saifuddin, remember, suffered a concussion last match.
