DC vs PBKS, Delhi Capitals Cricket Score Updates: Punjab Kings kept their unbeaten record in the Indian Premier League alive with a six-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals. On the way to chasing down the target of 265, Punjab set a record for the highest successful run chase in T20s. Captain Shreyas Iyer rode his luck on his way to an unbeaten 71 off 36 balls. He was dropped twice in the span of three balls by Karun Nair, once on 28 and then on 35.
Before Iyer, it was Prabhsimran Singh, who smashed a 26-ball 76, and Priyansh Arya (43 off 17 balls) who smashed Delhi’s bowlers all over the park, taking Punjab to 116/0 in the powerplay. Thanks to Prabhsimran (who scored 71 runs off 23 balls with 8×4 and 5×6 in the powerplay) and Priyansh Arya (38 off 14 balls with 1×4 and 5×6 in powerplay) the Punjab Kings had scored 116/0 in the powerplay, which was the second highest powerplay score in IPL history, second only to the 125 runs Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed previously. Prabhsimran hit six fours in the sixth over to light up Punjab’s chase.
Earlier in the game, an unbeaten 152 from KL Rahul off just 67 balls (thanks to 16 fours and nine sixes) helped Delhi Capitals score a record 264-2. Rahul’s total is the new record score by an Indian batter in the IPL, surpassing Abhishek Sharma’s 141 scored last season. Rahul made the Punjab Kings pay after he was dropped for 12 by Shashank Singh.
The 264-run total posted by Delhi is also the highest score by a team in his season’s IPL. Earlier, Axar Patel had won the toss Delhi Capitals and decided to bat first against an unbeaten Punjab Kings led by Shreyas Iyer at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

Shreyas Iyer’s flying catch has gotten presiding deity of fielding, Jonty Rhodes to wax eloquent on the fielding craft, and feel like a grandfather. In a teaser of an interview with the host broadcaster JioHotstar’s ‘Believe’ show hosted by Irfan Pathan, Shreyas has dropped some pearls on his mindset and witticisms.
Dubbed Sarpanch at Punjab Kings, Iyer starts by saying, “Honestly speaking, main instinctive type hoon” even as Pathan calls him the man with Midas touch.
The Mumbaikar has offered stability and guts to a Punjab lineup, and brought the mentality that makes the northern franchise rise up to the challenge of the biggies – RCB, MI, KKR and CSK.
