England vs New Zealand (ENG vs NZ) 1st Test Live Cricket Score Updates: New Zealand went in at lunch at 85/1 in 25 overs against England in the opening session of the first test at Lord’s after debutant Ollie Robinson drew first blood to dismiss Tom Latham on Wednesday.

New Zealand won the toss and skipper Kane Williamson elected to bat in bright sunshine at Lord’s, which welcomed back spectators for the first time in nearly two years but limited capacity to 25% due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Robinson had Latham bowled for 23 after the opening batsman had an inside edge crash into the stumps, which brought Williamson (13 not out) to the crease.

Big wicket for England 󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 as Jimmy Anderson cleans up Kane Williamson, no. 1 ranked Test batsman, for just 13. It’s the seventh time in Tests that Anderson has got the better of the New Zealand skipper, who ends up inside-edging it onto off in his attempt to try and hang back in the crease.

At Lunch on Day 1, New Zealand are 85/1 in the first innings with Devon Conway batting on 43*, he has timed the ball really well till now, along with the captain Kane Williamson (13*). Debutant Ollie Robinson with the only breakthrough for England in this session.

Two straight maidens for Robinson, and Wood’s hit Conway again and brought a short leg in – he’s looked a little uncomfortable, but finishes the over with a fine pull in front for 4 just past the short fielder’s head. Anderson replaces Robinson.

Such a beautiful batting by Williamson. Calm and Composed as always. First, Conway opened the over  with a beautifully played boundary. Conway leans forward, presents the full face of the bat and drives it back past the non-striker. Then, Williamson followed by leaning into the drive, played with an angled blade and picks the gap wide of cover for a boundary. NZ are 72/1 after 19 overs.

Bowled!! Maiden Test wicket for Robinson! Tom Latham plays on to give English the first scalp! It’s time for Williamson to take strike! The number one-ranked batsman in the world! It’s Anderson vs Williamson. NZ – 60/1

A solid start from the New Zealand openers, Latham and Conway taking the Black Caps to 35/0 after 10 overs at Lord’s. Now it’s time for Ollie Robinson’s first over in Test cricket.

Stump mic picking up Broad before his first over: “I might go with four grabbers rather than three and one.”. Meanwhile, the first boundary of the bat from Conway as Broad overpitches. Score after 6 overs, NZ 23/0

Before making his debut today, Devon Conway has built a remarkable record in New Zealand. Against right-arm seamers in first-class cricket there, he averages 63; against off spin, he averages 71. A potentially difficult challenge for the English attack.
