China have been dominant against India in recent meetings between the two sides but none of that mattered as a very even game between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw in the Women’s Hockey World Cup. India were utterly dominant in the first half, ending it with a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Navneet Kaur and Deepika.
China, however, came out all guns blazing in the second half. India did well to keep them out though, ensuring that they conceded just the one goal in that period before they clawed their way back towards the end of the fourth quarter. The draw between these two sides has given England an early advantage, having earlier beaten South Africa 4-0.
