US begins enforcing blockade: The United States has begun enforcing a blockade on Iranian ports, with President Donald Trump warning of force against any vessels challenging it while maintaining that there is still scope for a deal with Tehran. The move follows rising tensions over Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz, with US Vice-President JD Vance accusing Tehran of “economic terrorism” and signalling a reciprocal response. Iran has condemned the blockade as “piracy” and signalled it will not back down under pressure, as protests were reported in Tehran, and the fragile prospect of renewed talks remains uncertain.
