Trump-Xi Summit LIVE: China’s President Xi Jinping warned his American counterpart Donald Trump that mishandling of the Taiwan issue can lead to a clash between the two countries, pushing the China-US relations into “a very dangerous place”. Soon after, Taiwan said it is grateful for America’s long-term support. “The government views all actions that contribute to regional stability and the management of potential risks from authoritarian expansion positively and continues to work with the United States in various aspects of our relationship,” Taiwan’s premier’s spokesperson Michelle Lee said.
What’s on the agenda? As the two presidents met in Beijing today, both leaders spoke about the differences the two nations have and how they have always worked through them. With all eyes on the US President’s China itinerary, the agenda for Trump-Xi interaction includes the spiralling trade tensions between the two economies (the US and China), the Iran war, Taiwan, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Who all are accompanying Trump? Trump has brought a large business delegation of over a dozen American CEOs, including Apple’s Tim Cook, Boeing chief Kelly Ortberg, and Tesla’s Elon Musk. Trump’s two-day trip marks the first visit to China by a sitting American president since his’s 2017 visit during his last term.
