US-Iran War News Live Updates: Iran has launched several drones at commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz every night since the Washington-Tehran agreement was signed on Sunday, NBC News reported. The US military has been intercepting and downing the drones fired by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), before they can threaten commercial vessels or personnel operating in and around Hormuz, NBC cited a US official as saying. Washington and Tehran are set to formally sign the framework on Friday.

It accused Israel of violating the terms of the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, Al Jazeera reported. US President Donald Trump also criticised Israel, saying its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs to be “more responsible” in Lebanon.

On the sidelines of the G7 meet, US President Donald Trump said the interim agreement with Iran guarantees that Tehran will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Defending the undisclosed 14-point memorandum, Trump warned that Iran would face severe consequences if it attempted to pursue a nuclear arsenal. Trump also warned Iran that “all hell will rain down” if the Islamic Republic intends to acquire a nuclear weapon.

Signing set for Friday in Switzerland: Trump and Iran declared they had reached an initial agreement intended to end more than three months of war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with a formal signing ceremony scheduled for Friday, 19 June, in Switzerland. Final negotiations will have a 60-day window focusing on nuclear weapons development, remaining sanctions, and UN Security Council and IAEA resolutions regarding Iran.
