Police are investigating a shooting at Virginia State University that reportedly left multiple people injured on Friday. The shooting was reported near the university’s Quad Annexes, around Boisseau Street and Third Avenue, Fox5 reported, citing Virginia State University.
Multiple people were shot and taken to area hospitals. The university said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The university remains on lockdown as Virginia State University Police and Chesterfield County Police investigate the shooting. Authorities have asked people to avoid the area, while students and others on campus have been urged to follow instructions from law enforcement.
