Iran on Wednesday fired on US allies in the Gulf after overnight American strikes, including one on a wedding party that allegedly killed four, Iranian State media reported. Sirens were sounded in Kuwait, where air defences intercepted drone and missile attacks during a “blatant Iranian aggression”, the country’s Ministry of Defence said.
The sudden escalation of the Iran war recently has renewed concerns over its civilian toll after Iran reported 18 dead in the last US assault, including four killed at a wedding. The Iranian Red Crescent said at least 67 were injured at the ceremony near the coast of the Strait of Hormuz. The shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz also dropped to six on Wednesday, down from 11 a day before and below the 10-day average of around 13, preliminary data showed on Thursday.

Three people, including the suspect, were killed after a shooting in a downtown Minneapolis apartment building Wednesday afternoon, the police said. Three cops were also injured, with two of them sustaining gunshot wounds, the police said at a press conference. One of the victims was shot dead at the spot, while another died on arrival at the hospital. The police said it was not immediately clear how the shooter died.
