“This looks fairly similar to the surfaces that we have seen here so far. But there’s one point of difference that we will see this evening. There’s grass all the way upto the danger zone and the reason for that is, the groundsmen wants to protect the surface. He wants to make sure the bowlers are comfortable whenever they are delivering the ball. One side boundary is just 58 metres. There was the dew factor in game one, and then we had a sandstorm and no dew in the other. So what are the captains going to back? The dew or the sandstorm? We will wait and see!,” says Kevin Pietersen in his pitch report. FOLLOW DC vs KKR LIVE

Meanwhile, MI are in a tricky situation in their chase against RR. Can De Kock pull them through? They need 53 in the last 6 overs. FOLLOW MI vs RR LIVE

Despite a recent loss against RCB, the Rishabh Pant-led unit maintain a clean record with four wins out of six matches and sit on the third spot of the IPL points table. The team will be hoping for Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis and Kagiso Rabada to return to their match-winning forms. On the other hand, the Eoin Morgan-led side will have some morales boosted after a win over Punjab Kings. However, the team is yet to find its rhythm in its batting order.

We’ve seen Sunil Narine do just about everything. We’ve seen Narine the spinner, Narine the opener, and this season for KKR, we have seen Narine the floater. And he seems to have pipped Shakib for the all-rounder’s spot. The mercurial Russell and the volcanic Hetmyer are two other West Indies players who can have a big impact tonight.

There are no injury concerns reported from either team. Ravichandran Ashwin’s departure from the DC bubble has made news for more reasons than one. For today’s context, it might mean that Amit Mishra might get a bigger role, or one of Delhi’s reserve spinners coming into the fray.

The first match of the day is ready to be underway. MI have won the toss and they have elected to field first. (FOLLOW MI vs RR LIVE)

Now, moving on to the second match of the day. DC vs KKR will be the match for today evening. Toss and team news for that match out at 7 pm IST.

Traditionally the track at Arun Jaitley Stadium has been batting friendly. However, spinners also have had their impact. Since it’s an afternoon game, the dew is unlikely to play its part, so teams could opt to bat first.

Off-side play is seen as a limiting factor in Faf Du Plessis’ batsmanship. The South African, however, has stuck to his hands wide-apart grip, which experts believe limits his ability to play through the off. Yet he has found a way to be more effective.{Read More}

Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma (201 runs) has got starts but hasn’t played a big knock and the Mumbaikar would be itching to get one as would be his opening partner Quinton De Kock (47 runs). But Mumbai’s middle-order, which boasts of hard-hitting batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav (154 runs), Ishan Kishan (73 runs), Hardik Pandya (36 runs), Krunal Pandya (29 runs) and Kieron Pollard (65 runs), hasn’t fired in unison so far. The middle-order can pummel any good attack into submission on any given day and Sharma would hope for their batting to click on Thursday when the action shifts to the Feroz Shah Kotla ground here. {Read Full Preview}
